During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District (KPEDD) faced the critical task of uplifting the spirits and livelihoods of the Kenai Peninsula Borough residents. With the pandemic severely impacting local businesses and halting tourism, KPEDD sought a unique approach to foster community pride and resilience. Inspired by the timeless appeal of vintage travel posters, Divining Point developed a creative campaign to capture the natural beauty and spirit of the Kenai Peninsula, aiming to rekindle local pride and offer solace to the community.

The campaign kicked off with the creation of a logo designed in the style of classic "Greetings From" postcards, featuring the word "Kenai" adorned with scenes emblematic of Alaska's wildlife. The design's nostalgic touch and joyful typeface set the tone for a series of collectible posters that would not only celebrate the region's majestic landscapes but also serve as beacons of hope during a time of uncertainty.

Expanding on this concept, Divining Point crafted a collection of posters and, subsequently, greeting card-sized versions at the request of KPEDD’s Executive Director. These pieces were thoughtfully adjusted to maintain their vintage charm and vibrant allure in a horizontal format, ensuring that each design acted as a window to the breathtaking vistas and serenity of the Kenai Peninsula. The meticulous attention to detail in these designs aimed to momentarily transport residents away from their daily stresses and into the comforting embrace of their natural surroundings.

The distribution of these posters and cards throughout the community, especially among frontline workers, first responders, and business leaders, played a pivotal role in bolstering morale. This initiative not only reminded residents of the beauty that lay just outside their doors but also symbolized a collective hope for brighter days ahead.
